Camping gear from Keys?

Make sure you get bug spray for the skeeters and the sand fleas. In my opinion, that's more important than a tent! :D
 
They is a k mart in key largo they looked like they had a good selection of stuff when we were there it is on the left as you are traveling south on hwy 1
 
from what i understood from the shelter we donate to in Miami -- they don't necessarily give the items to the homeless unless it's toiletries... something like a tent and camping supplies they would most likely sell & use the cash to buy food & stuff in bulk.
 
Am I right that one can't put a tent just somewhere in the US but one need to use designated camping areas?

I love diving and teaching others to dive.

That is certainly true in the keys, and you'd better make reservations asap. It's high season in the state parks and campgrounds.
 
it is easier getting a tent site though than an RV site :( also don't forget if you're bringing any of your scuba gear, you will need a safe place to store it (like in the trunk of the rental car) if you are tent camping..
