Ya know, I ran into several of youse guys on the Vision New Year's trip this last time, and now I've got my eye on the Truth Labor Day trip to San Miguel...

Of course, you're probably thinking much sooner than that, but thought I'd throw the idea out there...

Cheers all!

Hi Chris!! Not sure about Labor Day but it definitely sounds like fun. :D

Howdy All!

I'll be out to California for Labor Day and of course the New Year's trip again. This year will also be the year of the camera! :eyebrow:

So Brad's skipped off to Florida, huh? Some people will do anything to avoid having to buy a drysuit!

Are you planning to do the camera upgrade this year? I'll keep Labor Day in mind for the Vision...I'd love to dive with you again. Maybe we can get Brad to take a vacation out here to dive the cold water in a wetsuit again. Well, I'll have a drysuit by then, so he might not want to dive with 2 photographers in drysuits. :eyebrow:

If we decide to do a NYE trip - Mark and I would be diving wetsuits. :D We aren't prepared to take the plunge to buy drysuits just yet.

Yep, I'm looking at a Canon G9 / Ikelite rig -- kinda want a DSLR, but can't quite justify the extra expense at this point. Hope to have it by summer & get a few dives in with it before Labor Day. I've only been borrowing a camera from a friend so far, I'd rather flood my own than someone else's!

I think that might be the one Brad just got to replace his flooded camera. Yeah, it didn't recover from our NYE trip. :(

Brad is that it?

Brad has not skipped off to Florida just yet. He starts that intrepid journey on the 18th of this month. Just me and my cat.... It should be an interesting drive.

I actually got a Canon A570IS. Camera and housing together were about 300-350. I'd have to look at the receipt.

Judging by the way the Floridians dive and complain about cold water, I might become one of those who complains about the cold water....I'm planning on doing a DUI demo day in Georgia and I might eventually do the cave route, so who knows, I might have a drysuit by the time I come diving with you guys again. :) I might just have to fly out to do a liveaboard with you guys. :) Depends on where I'm at and what I'm doing. I could deployed overseas somewhere though. You never know. We should talk about this "coax-brad-to-come-dive-with-us" plan more, but after I get settled in Florida. :)
