i just got my underwater setup for my canon 20d slr and wanted to know good times of the year/beaches to get some certain sea life.

Animals such as Spanish Shaws, leopard sharks, seals, shovel nose guitar fish, sting rays...ect are what im curious of.

ive heard leopard sharks breed at la jolla later in the summer and i believe i remember reading a paper from the pacific marine mammal center that summers a busy time for seals/sea lions. anyone have info from old dive logs that might be able to guide me in a good direction for when/where would be my best chances of getting this type of marine life?

I'm an amateur photog but a relatively new diver, so I can't offer too much. That said, I saw a pretty decent sized guitar fish hanging out near a cool looking wall or small drop off at White Point a couple weeks ago. Several Spanish shawls around too. Viz was decent (~20ft) once you go below 25-30ft but crap above that, but I understand it's a real crap shoot at White Point sometimes.

I'm diving the oil rigs this weekend, I'll update this if I see anything you're looking for.
