Male human fat? Is female fat different?

Don't know. That is what was specified on the literature I stumbled on. Interesting question though. What makes the biggest difference is the ratio of bone to air cavities (lung, bronchial tube, sinus). As you can see, soft tissues are pretty close to neutral. Bones don’t change quickly unless something is really wrong. Lung volume can change with training.

That's an excellent question; I've lost 29 pounds in the last two months, I January I used 14 lbs. 1mm wet suit, in the last week of February I used 12 lbs, and last week, back to 14lbs; It was kind of strange, my sac rate improved a lot, but I though that I will need less weight.

I'm still trying to find an answer.

Most weight sinks the suit not the diver.

big diver (naked) needs little weight to sink
small diver (naked) needs little weight to sink
big diver in big suit needs more wieght
small diver in small suit needs less wieght
diver uses thicker suit then more weight
diver uses same suit after losing 20 lbs then same weight

Me too, down from 210 to 180 but still 20 pounds over my running days.

Congrats on your weight loss program. My excuse was a different position at work at a desk and my dogs passed on so no more dog play and my bike had a flat. Anyways, good for you.

Yeah, I'm hoping that my shorty will be a $60 casualty of all this...

Doesn't have to be unles you want to get a new one. If you visit our DIY section you can see how easy it is to adjust your suit down. Up is a bit more difficult but still not bad.

When you're my size suit adjustments are just a fact of life. :orca:

Thanks everyone. This winter was a long time coming.
Basically just stopped eating crap, drinking beers at home, and walking to everywhere possible.
The wetsuit is rated for 190-210lbs, so my guess is it'll be fine, but honestly I dive in shorts and a rash guard most of the time anyways. Will check out the DIY section.
No interest in spending any more money on diving, other than actually diving if I can help it.

Note from the field. In MY case, I ended up dropping 3 lbs to compensate for the weight/mass loss. I also added about 8 minutes per dive as my sac rate has improved dramatically. what a really nice side effect to losing a bunch of weight.
