I was told by Doya, one of Johnny's dive guides that the best time to go diving is somewhere between the months of August and September. Weather though is very unpredictable at thiss time of the year as it is the monsoon season. They have recent sightings of Thresher Sharks around Old Volcano (just missed it by a couple of days!) White Island is a perfect spot to do your SIT.
