Zeeman:
As much as I would love a "pet" panther or tiger, even if I could afford and get hold of one, I don't think I could live with myself if I kept such an animal captive. they are much better seen from a distance in the wild. but that's just me :)

As for pics - no probs, will take some tomorrow and post 'em. Hopefully, he'll be in "really cute" mode...

aside from the meat consumption part, i knew they would be a liability when they got full grown and letting them go was inevitable thats why i decided not to get one. anyway thanks and look forward to your pics.

Actuall, there are quite a few breeds of cat around now that are "big cat like" so to speak.

http://www.bengalcat.co.uk/pet/character/

That is a link with a bit of info on Bengals. It is quit einteresting to watch Viggo in day to day life - the way he stalks and walks is very much like watching a mini leopard, his paws are quit elarge and he is very muscular. His is about the same size as our other cat (a very cute pure white kitty) but is about oduble the weight, he is VERY strong, quite capable of covering over double the distance she can in the same time.

If Bengals aren't quite close enough to a real wild cat, there is also the Savannah http://www.savannahcatclub.com/

Oh.. [/threadjack]

a couple of officemates ordered puppies from a so called breeder our officemate saw in the classified ads.

we got a total of 4 puppies.

1 died 4 days after purchase
1 died 2 months after purchase
mine i had it shot as it was recommended to put to sleep
the lone survivor of the puppies is now a mongrel when it should have been a cross between a st. bernard and a collie.

my puppy was a cross of rot and Gs, the puppy was very very smart however disease took over.

that's why i am so reluctant to get off from ads, i'd like to get from a recommended source
