The c-5060 that I bought on ebay decided to start acting up. Luckily I bought it from a dealer that I have a 5+ year history with and the auction specified a warranty.

2 problems have occured - 1. menus pop up for no apparent reason (the exposure menu in particular) and 2. the arrow keys won't respond. These seem to be common problems that are discussed on this link http://www.wrotniak.net/photo/c-wz/c5060-dial.html.

Is anyone else having the above problems?

Plus, because I am new to this camera is the camera supposed to save your last file size setting (i.e. I choose SHQ but when I turn the camera back on it resets to HQ)?

Thanks,

Jason

Hi

Had the same problem with the mode dial - the camera was replaced 4 times . The last was about a year and a half ago , so far so good . If you are using it with the PT 020 housing you must lift up the mode dial knob on the housing before opening up , otherwise you will damage the dial on the camera .The mode dial can either be replaced or repaired .

Regarding the settings you need to turn All Reset under the SETUP menu to OFF .

Thanks for the tip with the pt-020. Luckily the rep at the store is also an UW photographer - she understands the importance of having a reliable rig.

I plan on picking up at least 1 more 5060 for back up.
