BX inflator question

At least with your Sherwood BC, you would have to go back many many years to get a model that did not incorporate a pull-to-dump valve on the left shoulder. If the pull cable is broken or not connected to the inflator it sure will not open the dump valve.
Some of the BC's use a piece is string which soon fails. I have repaired some very cheesy factory build components on lesser brands.
