My current dive computer, Aladdin pro nitrox, 12 years young, has bit the dust and i am looking to buy new. I want an integrated computer, nitrox compatable, and the bigger the screen the better. I also want to be able to change the battery without going back to the supplier. Also would like one with a middle of the road bottom profile

Any suggestions will be appreciated. Would like to stay at $1,000 or less.

I been diving the oceanic atom 2 for a year now and loving it. It can handle three different nitrox mixes at once and allow for you to adjust the conservity of your dive profile. Though if you are looking for a large screen this is probably not the computer for you. The MSRP for the atom 2 is 999.95 but currently oceanic is offering $200 off. Hope this is helpful. Good luck :)

I just bought a Wisdom 2... Haven't been able to dive it yet but it looks promising. I go to Honduras in 2 weeks to break it in. Has large numbers! Easy to use too...

I dove an Aeris Elite for a couple of years, didn;t like it at all. loved the air integrated features, but didn't ~need~ them persay. So when I upgraded I bought a ~$100 SPG and bought 2 zeagle N2ition's.

I think I heard someone say I think it is DiveRite is clearing out either the duo or their 3 gas computer, which is the same exact computer as the zeagle . . .

Ohh it has the ability to change how conservative the algorithm is as well as an easy to replace battery.

there it is - less then 300 bucks! http://divegearexpress.com/computers/nitekduo.shtml plus u get a screen protector and bungee mount for it. . . .

Ditto on the Sherwood Wisdom 2 air-integrated console.

Air, nitrox, and when you want to graduate to trimix, use it in gauge mode.

Huge numbers - good in poor vis and when narc'd.

Finally, not a conservative algorithm - if you are worried about DCS, don't red-line it and call the dive sooner, but if you are not, you can stay down longer.

Now, is that last feature something you've tested out yourself or was that work done by Rodales or Scuba Diving mag.?

But seriously, I'm now looking at that computer-but not for the narc'd feature....

Have to put it on my short list when my computer pukes although I don't really see my computer when narked.
