I believe it is important to understand why divers purchase at Leisure Pro.

I KNOW this subject ALWAYS end up being a huge debate, PLEASE lets avoid that.

Ltes keep this to simple answers and not stories on why LP or the LDS sucks or is great.

Best,

Chris

Charlie99:
Sometimes my reason is one not listed: the LDS didn't have the particular item and LP (or other online source) did.
That's mostly it for me too ... availability, more than price, determines where I shop.

Ditto, and I'll expand a bit - LDS doesn't carry what I want, even though they are an authorized dealer, and don't want to bother ordering it. It's just easier to buy it online, whether from LP or any other place.

Great info guys, thanks!

Keep it coming!

I agree. My LDS is very good about having what I want and competing with price but I still shop online. Where I get the best deal at the time I want it is what matters. Usually I end up at the LDS though.

Absolutely it's about selection. Their prices aren't always all that much better (e.g., Henderson wetsuits); I recently saw something priced higher. Plus for the locals, they have a salesperson just as knowledgable and helpful, if not more so, than other LDSs I've been to. If they only provided repairs/service, air fills, and trips (did I miss anything?) they'd be a true LDS, at least by the low standards I'm used to.

I normally end up at the LDS, even if it costs a bit more. It's being able to touch and handle the goods first - it's kept me from making stupid purchases quite a few times (not always, unfortunately).

Guess the only thing I may not buy at LP would be my scubapro reg (sorry cerich!) if I decide to go that way since they will not warranty unless bought at LDS.

I agree with those that have mentioned the missing option. I bought from them as they were the first people I could find who would ship to Japan.

If you want I can add another option - something about ease of availability?
