Gee I'm really bumbed out. As some of you know my daughter and diving buddy started college last August. Well while talking to her the other day she gladly informed me that for her PE required class fall semester she's taking AOW.

After she gets back next Spring I'll have to listen to her moan that I'm keeping her shallow since I only have OW :shakehead

Sounds like a good reason for you to take AOW too! I fail to see why your daughter/buddy getting more training should bum you out.

Bummed cause I won't be able to join her. Glad she's able to get it while in school. Remember I'm paying her tuition while enduring HS band participation for my son (everyone who's ever had a band student join me in a beer) oops forgot can't afford beer and band too! Therefore it will be awhile before I can afford the AOW course. Besides I'm happy just to get under water. I mean a fish is a fish is fish and 0 vis at 20ffw is only worse at 100ffw as there's less sunlight filtering down there and it only gets colder down there.

Vince, don't be bummed! What is aow other than some more experience by doing some more dives? I've known many ow divers that are more experienced than their aow counterparts. So let's get together this summer for some additional diving. Let's plan on a night dive and a deep dive down at Pennyroyal.

Can I interest you in a slightly used Timex?:D

Yeah only used by a couple of killer Ky bluegills right? Hey I'm chomping at the bit to get wet. Course I just noticed the other day my steel 72 is due hydro this month.

You've got time, the water last weekend was cold! Especially going down the back
of my neck and shoulders!

Brrrrr! I take it the equipment check didn't check out well. My daughter's coming home after all for spring break her scuba club lost their planned trip to keys so they were going to crystal river instead and we were there last year so she decided to come home. She asked if we could go to the quarry. I told her I'd be cold as heck in my 7mm suit and she'd be icy in her 3mm. We're going to try and get some pool time in just to refresh.

5th drysuit dive, 1st in my new suit, I didn't get my neck seal set right.

That and some bouyancy issues, I was good to abort the dive before my suit
filled up with cold water! I'll get the bugs worked out. I'm REALLY looking forward
to some warm weather, just call me a cold water woosy!

Well won't be going dry for awhile. Hey did you happen to see the old soviet union dry suits on ebay? They were quite scarry! Labled as "New in box" I mean very very scarry.

Wow! That suit is scarry! 2 piece suit with what looks like a FFM, and was that the
opv valve on the neck??? Priced way too high and way too many issues that I can see.
Death trap in the works there for some un-knowing diver!
