Well, if you have access to some stainless sheet/plate, use it. Some rubber washers would eliminate that worry, albeit I think it's not of a great concern.

I had the SAME EXACT PROBLEM...less than 2 days ago haha

I was told to use 5/16" machine screws. These are flat headed screws with a tapering head that will sit flush inside your grommet. I was right about to buy a set of those when I discovered a POSSIBLY AMAZING BOLT...hopefully as pictured below. I forget the name of these bolts. I found them in Lowes in one of the drawers where they keep all of the other nuts and bolts.

It has a flat 1" wide head that looks to be roughly 1/16th inch thick. As you can see it covers the grommet perfectly, but the thing I'm hoping for is that its just wide enough to prevent my tank from rolling off the side of the bolt, and the head is large and flat enough that it wont dig into the aluminum.

I havnt gotten a chance to try out my new bolt, however when I do I'll post it here. Hope I could help!
