Hello,
I was starting to plan a winter trip to Utila, when I was told that the no-seeums are awful. Has anyone had that problem?? It seems like a neat place to dive. Please advise-thanks.

Depends on your deffinition of "awful".

There are no-see-ums everywhere in the Caribbean, the Bay Islands have the best no-see-ums.

scubaboard burped

scubaboard double burped

You can say that again :)

We spent about a week on Utila last July and only noticed sand flies part of one morning when the breeze died down - one or 2 bites each. We had the same experience during nearly 2 weeks on Roatán. My advice is pray for a constant breeze! Happy trails - hope you enjoy Utila as much as we did!

Take Deep Woods Off. I used it, and not a single bite.

Off really rocks when it comes to the sand fleas! If you stay away from the waters edge, it helps, or actually walk in the water when you can, you'll have less problems.
ANd Scuba Jay is correct. You won't see then at the Mango Inn. Enjoy your trip.
