Hi All,

First time diving this part of the world. Most of my diving has been in Oz & Indonesia.

I have 4 days (3 dive days) in Bonaire after a trip to the Galapagos.

I am travel alone and am a bit worried about the set up in Bonaire. It appears to be ideal for groups, couples but not the single traveller.
How easy is it to buddy up or join a guided boat dive.
Ideally I would like to do 3 “guided” boat dives a day.
Is this possible?
I will not be renting a car.

Would appreciate any advice.

Thanks in advance

The boat dives are DM-led, so at a minimum you can tag along with the guide and use him/her as a buddy until you meet someone more permanent. All the larger resorts offer boat diving, usually 3 boats per day.

Your going to miss the real charm of Boniare if you stick to boat diving. I would suggest you go to the Bonaire board and ask if someone would be willing to let you join them. I have had good luck doing so. I suspect if you ask and maybe offer to buy a beer or 2 you can find a single or group to hang with. When are you there?

I agree with Herman, the whole charm of Bonaire is being able to pick a dive spot and drive right up to the shore and walk in! :D

Where are you staying? You may be able to find a buddy there, who is renting a truck, and go shore diving with them.

Don't go to Bonaire and miss out of the incredible shore diving!!!

Many thanks for all info.
I am there 10-14th Oct.
Not book accom yet.
Will check out the Bonaire link
