Thinking about going to the DUI drysuit demo this w/e. My kids will need some gear (reg, 2 bcds) and we'd need some tank rentals as well. I've read that they rent gear at the quarry, but there is no email or telephone number contact on the Brownstone Park | Scuba | Bike | Trails | Hike | Climb | Canoe | Kayak | Camp | Swim | Learn website

I figured that I'd give them some business as well and save the hassle of local gear rental (1+ hour r/t to the lds).

How's the rental op there? gear quality?

Not too many of us rent gear here. It may be safe to say the gear wont be salt encrusted though. They also dont rent a whole lot of dive gear so you may get your pick of the equipment.

Also the people who run the quarry are pretty good divers themselves and will know if the gear has problems of just about anysort.

Come down this weekend end you may end up in some new gear and a drysuit as its DUI weekend this weekend.

Why not just rent the gear from Scuba Shack? It's what, 10 minutes away?

Good idea. That'll work if I go on Saturday, but they are closed on Sundays. I'll give them a call today and see what's up.

Buying more gear is what my wife fears the most. :no I've got all my own gear except for a tank. My son needs a reg and bc and my daughter just needs a bc. Neither can afford to buy these yet and I'm willing to do the rental costs now as a bribe to keep my buddies, ;)

Will you be at the demo this weekend? It'd be fun to meet up face to face. :coffee:

I should be helping out as part om my DM training Guggie. What I mean about new gear is that sometime DUI uses new gear for people to demo. I didnt mean buying new gear. Also the quarry is run by people related to ScubaShack and you'll get good rentals I believe.
