"I love it when he visits"

Actually its about time we get together someplace and have him give us a formal talk on the quarry. I'de love to listen in and learn more about the history of the quarry and get the newspaper involved also. I'm thinking the Russel libary conference room.

Just a thinking out loud. For those who don't know just across the bridge on Washington street past dunkin donuts is a USA Submarine museum with records and records of submarines and lots to see.

The building that was at the end of the promontory was the blacksmith shop and foundry. we found a great deal of slag and coal ash there, along with lots of iron parts and pieces, too rusty to make out. there was a smaller buildind located at the bottom of the staircase, and seems to have been an easy way to get from one building to the next. Possibly foundry to repair shop? From time to time an elderly gentleman that grew up in town, and whose father worked the quarry, stops in to visit. He's a wealth of information and a hoot to lissten to! Great stories of growing up in the old town, and swiming in the quarry. I love it when he visits.

When did the 40ft whale shark arrive at the quarry??

And the three masted schooner?

I saw them both, I swear.

We had one until it bit one of Frank's kids and Ed went ballistic and blew it up with dynamite.

I never got to see it.
