My mode dial broke. Well it came loose and wouldn't fix back in place. I did a bit of research and found this was not an uncommon issue with the camera. It was going to cost a lot to get it fixed by Olympus so I did some more research and found this link which shows step by step how to fix it:

I have to confess straight off that I did not fix it - hubby did! But he tells me that if you are relatively handy, it is a straightforward job. You can buy replacement dials on ebay.

Worked for me and might work for some of you if you get the same problem.
 
Thanks for posting this. I was unsuccessfuly looking for similar manual few days ago when I was trying to fix CF slot. I didn't find it and I did the job myself. However, this link would've spared me much time.
