I'm a Fish!
The surf and swell were good today. On the first dive the vis was about 6 ft. During the second dive vis reduced to about 2ft. The 3rd dive we were lucky to have 3ft and it was dark in the kelp..It almost looks like there is algae bloom possible in the water along with the stirred up sand from the recent storm....we will dive again on fri...so I'll let you know how it is...:blinking:

We were heading down there this Friday from Davis but the swell forecast put us off. Sunday might be OK but it sounds like Saturday may not be a Monastery type of day.

Monastery is definitely worth a look this weekend.

That's about as good as it gets! Looks like fantastic conditions for the weekend. Wish I was going diving.

btw. If you're diving weekdays you can almost always get a permit for Whaler's Cove at the last minute. Visibility would most likely be far better than what you're getting at the Breakwater.

Looks diveable but I'm going to stay at home and work on homework and etc. Testing period is coming so no big hurry there. Next week I'll go swimming.

Week day diving out of lobos is always a blast!...unfortunatly tommorrow is a check out dive for new divers and you can't dive at lobos unless your certified...

The N or NW winds is keeping the surf lumby at monterey ..they say if its rough at santa cruz then the waves are flat in Monterey and if its flat in Santa Cruz then its lumpy in Monterey..I've found that to usually be the case..

the wind picked up in santa cruz today..

Got to pack up...heading out early..

Yeah, the weekend is really shaping up to be good. Water temp: 59.9 degrees on the surface. That practically tropical for Monterey, isn't it?
