[Cathy,
Welcome to diving. We all started out as newbies so don't be shy, just come diving. Lots of good people on this board dive almost every weekend and we are always looking to meet and dive with new people, no matter what level of diving you are at. Just watch this forum.

I dive with a group out of Divers Inc of Ann Arbor. We do a lot of fun dives at the quarries in Ohio to practice and just get together. This weekend we will be at Whitestar in Gibsonburg Ohio. (If you go to www.diversinc.com there is a map to Whitestar) You and your dive buddy are always welcome to come join us. We have lots of new divers, so you will feel right at home. We have a green tent set up with a banner so we are easy to find. If you can't make it this weekend the website always lists when and where the fun dives will be.

Hope to see you at a dive site soon.

Kim

Thank you, Kim. I appreciate the invitation. This weekend, my boyfriend will be out of town so we won't be diving. But I may take you up on the offer another time. I'll check out the website. Thanks again.

Cathy

but welcome aboard, Cathy! I am afraid that Mitten Diver is dreaming about "my trailer" (however, if the group wants to take a collection :eyebrow: ) But, I am always glad to dive with new people. We were all there at one time. Get to know other divers and just start diving. I would take Tiny Bubble's advice about checking the other threads for when YOU feel comfortable taking an advanced course. All of the options with that have their pros and cons.

Hi Cathy,

I'm just a beginner my self having logged only about 10 dives. Not in your area but it's fun getting out and diving a new site for the first time. Good luck!

David

Cathy - Welcome. Gilboa quarry would be the perfect place for you to not only practice but have fun. The quarry is loaded with lots of things to dive on, including a Gulf Stream Jet. They're all in shallow water (20 to 40 ft.) Also, UW platforms are available to keep you off the bottom, yet play around with your buoyancy Again, welcome.
