One other clever idea, which seemed to work. The knot on the left was the target-size, used for securing the top of a side-mount tank. The band on the right is the "adjustable" loop.
- Double-wrap the paracord twice as described in Type 2 above. Clamp, but only enough to close the hog-ring, not enough to squish the paracord.
- Repeat previous step slightly farther down the paracord.
- Adjust the paracord through the hog-clamps until it's relatively even.
- So long as the rings are next to eachother, it shouldn't slip at all
- Pull through relatively even amounts of cord. (Phallic shape optional.)
- Move lower ring up next to upper ring.
- Optionally trim excess, if desired.
