Braided looks just like string, monofilament is clear.How visible are they in the water? Typically fishing line disappears in the water so fish don't see it. Pretty much the opposite of what you want on a reel/spool
Had to laugh, Did the same thing. Would never fish with that stuff again.I haven't tried braid on a spool, but I have fished with it. I bought $$$ of braid to load up all my reels - that's what the pros said I needed to do - so of course I did it. That stuff will snarl and get knots if you just look at it. I can't even figure out how it gets knots in it, but it does. And impossible to untangle when it does. So i went and bought $$$ of fluorocarbon to replace the new braid. I wouldn't put it on a spool just based on my experience fishing with it, but who knows, might work like a charm.
