BP/wing rental in Monterey area?

I'd like to test-drive a BP/Wing setup, but my LDS doesn't have them for rent.

Is there a shop I could rent it from in or close to Monterey?

I'm not sure about rentals, but Joe Talavera with www.subtidal.net does DIR Experience Days (XP) in Monterey every other month. The XP Day gives people a chance to try out Halcyon BP/Wings, and long hose configurations.

The next XP day is coming up in July, but we're still finalizing plans. We're looking at hosting the next one up in the Sacramento area, and we may head up to Lake Tahoe.

If you're interested, I can send more information as the July plans become more solid.

I think Manta Ray in Monterey rents them. And try Any
Water Sports in San Jose.

And be prepared to buy them. Just about everyone who
tries them buys a set (me included).

Both Manta Ray Dive Center and Monterey Bay Dive Center rent them. But I think they only have one set each, so you should call during the week to reserve one. Last year, the one at MBDC was with the older Pioneer wing with seperate STA, the one at Manta Ray was the newer Pioneer with integrated STA. Don't know if it's still the same.

Wherever you get it make sure you have it fiited to you. Plus you want to think out how your other equipment will fit in with the wing how you are going to weight yourself etc. There are differences

Just called MBDC and reserved a Halcyon 36# wing for a day.

Thanks a lot for the input. I asked these guys and they won't mind helping me to adjust the harness and figure out how to fit the rest of the equipment in. In the worst case I will just have to rent other stuff as well.
