Didn't mean to, just didn't want anybody to think there was something inherently funky about the DSS rig that wouldn't permit reaching the valve.

Have you tried turning your tank a bit so the valve knob is angled forward?

The DSS system doesn't use an STA, and the tank sits right on the backplate. I haven't dived any other system, but I can say there are no issues with instability with that one. Unfortunately, I STILL can't reach my valve . . . :)
I use a Halcyon Single tank system with an STA...and I have no trim issues and I can reach my valve with 400gm undies in my drysuit. ;)
