Yeah i guess that was kinda jerkish .This one of those battles that will rage for ever in diving . Like power fins vs splits etc.. So kinda hits a sore spot . To me the argument is over but still dive with divers in jackets on rec dives and have no issue with it if they can trim out and now stur up all the silt .

But most divers that try my spare bp/w usaly buy one not to long after they try mine . And all the students here get to try bp/w and jackets at the open water level and most chose bp/w for there first bc.

As for most bcs not fitting me im 6.5ft and 275lbs so nothing really fits me properly other than the bp/w . On a single tank aplication having the option to mount 12-14 lbs on my back is a big deal and not having a weight belt on is a must .And keeping minimal ditchable weight in pockets out front .

piiki With out seeing you floating in the water i can not really tell whats going on I would think you crotch strap is not tight enoph that would make the tanks ride up. but would galdly do a dive with you and see if i can help .

I personaly dive double x8-130's and really never had any issues floating in even the bigest seas

Fair enough! But, who's driving while you're being dragged along by the D-ring on your crotch strap? It seems like it would be hard to reach the steering wheel or use the go and stop pedals. And you're only doing this on the cart path, right? You're not tearing-up the grass, are you?

You are supposed to do all this with one hand ain't you ? :) and at the same time switching the can of beer with another hand simulating gas switching :D I believe the ba...lls pardon, harness :) will be pretty much worn out after that exercise :)

Cut me some slack, I'm still a newbie!:doh2:

If anyone has any doubts about the magic of a BP/W they should find Jepuskar's video on the subject....

Jep's video explains it all. Just watch it and all debates would be over. :D

Anyone have a copy?

I have a copy, but I can't for the life of me remember where I downloaded it from, and I don't want to host someone else's vid without permission. Is it up on YouTube anywhere?

Edit: Nevermind, found the thread: http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/humor-games-clips-yarns-tales/112555-bp-w-vs-bc-video.html

The link doesn't work anymore. Looks like the entire account is gone and not just the one video.

I sent jepuskar a PM asking if the video is posted some where else. If it is I'll let everyone know.

I don't know if this is the video in question, but I found it on YT and it's just hilarious.

I have both a BP/W and a jacket style. I wear BP/W when I do my tech diving. However, I feel the jacket is much more comfortable thus I use it for all my rec diving. It's all about preference. I tell all my students that there is more than one way to do things in diving. Not sure why ppl always fight on scuba board saying there is only one way, or that theirs is the best... Go with what feels good.
