Okay, so I bought my first BP/W and want to fit it to me with my drysuit on. I tried it on once on land with my drysuit on and that's about it because I was sweating profusely. Anyways, I adjusted things (estimating of course) and would love to have tried it in a pool but didn't have access to one. So I went for a shallow (13ft) shore dive. The rig was grossly oversized! It felt OKAY when I put it on on land but after being shrink wrapped a bit and filling my drysuit for loft, The shoulder straps were just slipping off my shoulders! It's not like the rig fell off and it still trimmed out pretty well, but exactly how "tight" should the hog harness be on land so that it feels right underwater?

I guess what I really need to do is get access to a pool and just keep jumping in, get out, fit it, jump in, get out, fit it, etc.

You are off on the right track - just tighten it up a few finger widths per side and dive it again. Ideally you get it to where it fits well in the water and yet is still not too hard to get out of after the dive.

Generally, if I can just barely chicken wing and get out of mine, it is just about perfect in the water.

Just be careful about doing too much fitting work in your drysuit on land . . . LINK.

Goatee is optional....:D

maybe a silly question but you do have the crotch strap on right?

Oh.. that wasn't to dangle excess christmas ornaments on? ha ha
