I've joined the BP/W crowd with a nice used Oxycheq rig I bought from another board. The harness was already rigged and the former owner is a similar size, so it doesn't require much adjustment. However, I think the buckle is on the wrong waist strap. It's on the right strap instead of the left one.

Is there any reason why it would be on the right? If not, I'll re-rig on the left one such that it wraps around to the right of center as I think it's supposed to be.

I'm going to give it a try in my lake this weekend.

Thanks,
John

I asked the same question when setting up my BP/W.
The answers I got was on the left strap so when done up it sits to the right.
This is suposed to be the DIR way of doing it. If you dive the DIR way ( I dont) and have a cannister lights on your right hip (I dont) then some use a second buckle to hold the canister in place.

The only problem I have with it being on the left strap is that it is the same as my weight belt and I could possibly get the two confused and unbuckel the wrong one.

Thanks! I'll probably go ahead and re-thread it. I'm guessing that I won't have to wear any weight with this set up, but if I do, I'm thinking about trying the XS Scuba pockets instead of a belt.

I had originally just moved the buckle way over to the right (on the right strap) before I read up on it some more.
