Good heavens, I'm tired from just watching that...... No way I could do that without a scooter!

:rofl3: It's playing double speed. It wasn't nearly as bad as it looks. That is me that appears at around 0:25, I think. That is when I first got to the bottom and, well, the hot drop was not a direct hit. I had to swim a bit to get to the wreck. No fault of the captain. The first diver jumped early, so we all had to jump before the boat was fully into position. We were lucky to find the wreck, really.

Anyway... once we got on the wreck, the current was no problem at all. It was just a little work swimming into it to get there.

That looks so cool!

It was!

But, we dived the E M Clark the next day and it was SO much better of a wreck to dive! I'm okay with it if I don't ever get to dive the Monitor again. But, I would go back to the Clark tomorrow and every day for a week. At least! It was my favorite wreck to dive ever!

What I liked about the Monitor was the connection to history I'd learned in grade school. We did not do a hot drop but descended on a line. As we got closer the unmistakable shape of the bow came into view. I still get chills - 14 years later - thinking about it.

Yes. That is why I wanted to dive it. Learning in 2015 that the Monitor was able to be dived is what prompted me to start tech training. But, now, it is the history of it that is cool. There's not a whole lot to really look at once you get there. To me, it is now checked off my list. I doubt I will ever go back there and get better conditions. Maybe not ever even as good again. It was amazingly good conditions.

Now, on to other dive sites on my To Do list...
