bottle diving sites

I have wondered about bottles and things in the Chesapeke where the Susquanaha drains? I havent had a chance to look yet but I am game for it. My undersanding is its not really deep just no vis. But maybe one of the folks who frequets that area will chime in??

Havre de grace in the Chesapeke bay. Used to be an old dump and there are many bottles to be found. I went diving there in January and there was stuff all over the place. Most bottles were broken, but we found a few intact.

Rookie move here, but I've seen some stuff out here about bottles. What exactly are bottles in this context?

How cool. I am a newbie diver in Ohio and this just caught my eye on the new posts listing. I love bottles and have some old ones... never thought about finding them diving...

I know this is the forum for E. Coast... but anyone know anywhere else bottles are found? What kind of bottles? Does anyone have any pictures you would be willing share? I'm just really intrigued! Thanks:scatter:

There are 2 nice boat dives in NY that has many bottles, if U can find them.
The Lizzie D. This is an old tug boat that went down durring prohibition with a full boat of illegal booze(wiskey and rum). To all that say the boat has no more bottle, I found a bottle sept 2003. http://njscuba.net/sites/wreck_lizzie_d.html

The other is the pipe barge, this was a old garbage(maybe) barge that went down in the 30s. A lot of bottles, tea cups, and other things.

The Pipe Barge is a cool dive, and is shallow enough (60fsw) for divers of all levels. Maybe we could get a WV group heading out there around Memorial Day.

Nosing around for bottles and artifacts there could be rewarding if you get lucky. No one knows exactly where this wreck came from. Finding something that identifies it would make for some great bragging rights.

Dutchfin.... Where the hell have you been?? You missed our Cooper River trip. Alot of teeth, bones, etc. When are you coming back to N.J./P.A. ?? We open the first weekend in April.

We might be able to arrange some sort of joint venture.

I'm in central NJ also. I have a tremendous bottle collection.
Mostly from above ground, mostly beer bottles of recent age.
I do have some really old ones out of sommerville that i found hiking the trails,
but they are not for sale, or so the bottles say, "not to be sold".
I've come across some old chemist bottles from the philly area as well.
