Booked directly through American so no sub par travelicty/google flights nonsense. Just a tad over $500 per ticket. Never paid less than 750 before. ??

Hurricane season, traveling through Miami. Prices drop.

You may have booked Basic Economy rather than discount or even full-fare Economy. (Bag charges, no carry-on, charge for seat.) Or you got lucky. What's the fare class? And what are your travel dates?

It's economy (like I always fly). Bag fee yes, carry on's no fee. I don't pay for the seats because when I call the airline they just assign them once I've booked it online. It's never been an issue. 9/12 - 9/19.

Really gambling with non direct, American, MIA and with all the flight cancellations taking place this year, I am guessing 70/30 you actually make it. How tight are your connections?

It is $592 right now. A good deal, but you got a better one!

couple hours. we've always taken the same flights in the past. I figured we'd try mid week this time since it's available.

I think your dates are Wed. - Wed. instead of Sat. - Sat., which I'm told results in significantly lower fare at times...back in Feb. it saved me around $722.

Richard.

I say 50/50 due to all the above, but especially compounded by a nasty forecasted hurricane season. Notice all the route augmentation announcements take place November 6th and onward. The current (historically record setting) system in the islands being a spawn from Africa would indicate the trend isn’t your friend. As a fellow New Englander, I’d be more comfortable with a United flight via EWR than MIA during hurricane season. Hope you make it!
