Bonaire

Anyone have a favorite dive resort in Bonaire,,I am looking for small group boat dives and shore dives..for a trip in late March..

We stayed at the Plaza and had a great experience. Comfortable & clean rooms, very good food & service. Nice beach. The dive op (Toucan Diving) was very nice as well. Their boats were in very decent shape and staff was friendly and helpful. All around a pretty good experience.

Try searching this board, I know myself as well as others have discussed this topic at length. My perfered resort is Buddy Dive www.buddydive.com . Matter of fact, I just completed my reservations for July. Other places are Lions Dive, Happy Holiday Homes, Capt Dons and Sand Dollar. All are nice locations and there are a lot more. It's kind of hard to get a really bad place on Bonaire. You will want a vehicle of some sort so plan on getting one. Look carefully at what in included in the package you are getting and make sure you are compairing like packages. We are headed to the Plaza in late March. It was a toss up between Buddys and the Plaza ...... Have heard lots of good about both places ......

We went with something called the 3-D Dive package.....
A Villa, truck, unlimited shore diving and added some boat dives

Roman.....How many boat dives did you guys do ???

:sigh: , im leaving Wednesday for Bonaire..cant wait as the diving is AWESOME!! Doesnt matter were you stay, the diving is great anywhere you go.

Buddys gets my vote, great resort. Buddys reef is a few steps from your room, is ideal for day or night diving. Almost any where on Bonaire is good diving. Wish I was going.

Roman.....How many boat dives did you guys do ???

We were supposed to do 6 1-tank dives, but got peer-pressured into doing 6 2-tankers. It was only $95 extra/person for 6 extra dives. So we ended up doing 12. I'd say you can get away with 12 boat dives on your 1st trip to BON, but that pretty much lets you see just about all boat-only places. On a future trip I'd probably do only a couple of boat dives here & there (Klein, Rappel, 1-2 others, maybe) and concentrate on shore diving more. You can always get unlimited Nitrox for the price of the packaged boat dives.
