I was there in July and used a 3mil shorty and was plenty warm-some people like a full for more protection from coral/jellyfish etc,but the water should be about 80 degrees.
Make sure you have some hard soled booties for the rocky shore entries and roll the windows down and dont leave anything of value in the car or truck!

Wake up early and beat the crowds to the Hilma Hooker-a neat dive at first light!

When in Rincon-stop in for some local cuisine at the Rose Inn-great people and good food! try the goat stew or the fresh fish! Fabulous and Cheap! Icy cold beer too!
Even their sign out front reads "coldiest beer in town!" (not a mis spelling-thats what it says)

I just got back 2 weeks ago and the water temp was 81. It was 79 last Feb and 81 in July so the water temp does not change much. I wear a full length fleece lined skin all the time and find that plenty for me. It's about the same as a 1mm. A buddy of mine uses a full length 3mm and a hood all the time. A light hood or beenie helps add a lot of warmth but does not take up a lot of room or weight in my luggage. I would suggest at least a full length skin as protection against sunburn and the occasional jellyfish tentacle.

Herman, I have to agree. I also use a fleece lined skin...actually I found a polartec one, it's great. Our dives usually end up to be a little over an hour at a time and I rarely get cold. The skin is also great for little stingy things...scrapes, fire coral, etc. I would check out ebay...they have some great buys on new skins. Best of luck! Liz
