Nice!! Sounds like all had a great time!

Jim you mentioned in your other post you went to a "remote spot" ?
Was that Candyland?
If it wasnt you should try it next time..north of Karpata and up and around Bopek on a dirt road. Well worth the jaunt!

Im jonesing to return-hopefully in January!

Drew

No. I've heard Candyland is a good site, but have yet to dive there.

The place we found was just an un-named piece of shoreline, behind some private homes or condos, with poor shore access. The locals that took me there asked me to keep the location to myself. Since I plan on returning there and diving with them in the future I must honor that request.
I do know from other experiences that areas away from or between marked sites are often less impacted by dive traffic. It pays to poke around and explore.

Hi WaterWolf, I think they were kissing in this one:

I am not sure WHAT they were doing in this one tho:

All I know is they were ignoring me, they were so focussed on each other!
Can you blame them?

Great pictures. Glad you had a good time!

Nice pic. Captures that, just breaking day feeling!
Got some other good pics there too, WW. What are your first two pics in the series of, anyway? Some sort of vents, or a spawning?

Thanks. The first two are corals spawning.

Hey Jim!! Cool pics and info from your report!!

Windsock and Yellow Sub are 2 of my favorite spots too. As well as dawn and late afternoon dives.

As much as we're all happy you were on a good dive vacay.......we're all happy your now back here with us. Online. Talking about diving. :D

Great report and fabulous pics!! Four of us will be in Bonaire for our second trip in January. We'll be staying at the Divi Flamingo.

Have fun! My gf and I were there this last Jan. The first time we were on Bonaire in the "winter". It was a bit wetter, raining just a bit each day, but still hot and sunny most of the day with water temps in the low 81-82df range.

Jan was the first time we saw these little fellows on Bonaire:

in every size shape and color imaginable.

dschmidt, we had a great time at Divi in June and trust you will as well. Their reef is very nice and they have a nice set up for both shore diving and boat diving. Their lockers are new as the old ones got wiped out by Omar. I know boat diving is not generally the MO of Bonaire divers but the ones we did with them were terrific. I didn't get into their casino but a friend of ours did and paid for his trip at the blackjack table. I NEVER have that kind of luck at gambling so just retire after a few drinks. The breakfast buffet was good. The really nice part of that location is it is a quick walk to Cactus Blue, Unbelievable, and da Bonairean restaurants. The latter is only open for lunch during the week but very reasonable and good. The former two are dinner joints that are great.
