I have used these felt soled shoes on Bonaire. Grippy on slick rocks and the soles are urchin proof.

My final opinion on socks, is to use lycra skin socks. These will help prevent chafing on your feet from your boots/shoes and fins. Another thing they do is to contain the toe cheese which is what stinks up your boots over time.
