My major complaint with November is the surge getting in and out of the ocean. I didn't mind the rain, it was sporadic. Didn't mind the mosquitos, they're always there. The surge sucked. It just made it difficult getting in and out without getting knocked over. I don't know if it is that way every November but it caused me to go back on a different schedule.
 
Agree! Surge is the worst for shore diving... and waves, crashing onto ironshore, making entries/exits treacherous. We only found that a couple of days in the south, and once the exit at Oil Slick.
That's why I won't go to Maui in winter any more. Conditions are way better in spring.
