We recovered the body of a 21-year-old male on Saturday. He had been in the water for less than an hour and a half.

The lake was a tiered lake, but he still hadn't drifted very far from the PLS. Water was about 10' deep; viz was 0-6". It was a good experience for several of our divers as they had not had much experience with anything other than evidence recovery. We are a fairly new team, so this was an ideal situation as far as body recoveries go...

Not much else to tell other than that the call went well with multiple agencies working cooperatively together. This isn't starting out as a good summer for anyone it seems...

Isn’t that a novel concept. Its amazing at how smooth everything goes when that happens.

Good job and glad it all went well.

Good job and congrats on the recovery. Yes, sounds like the makings of a bad summer across the country as far as drownings go. One thing to remember, debrief the op and debrief the recovering diver(s). This doesn't seem so important now, but as summer wears on, you realize the importance. Make sure the other agenices involved are invited to the debrief too. This will help maintain the cooperation.

Good Job!!

Paul

Practice is good, but the reason sucks! Do they know why he drowned? Was alcohol involved?
