21 1/2 ft cuddy cabin. 5.0 liter, 250hp Volvo/Penta. Only used it for a month before the cold weather came and had to store it. Only have had two divers on it but think I can do four. Went with the cuddy this time as we have spent so much time on our other boat(16 1/2 open bow), it is nice to be able to get into the cuddy to rest or what ever you want.

Is it spring yet??

28'x10' commercial crab boat with low freeboard and wide open deck. Diesel powered displacement hull slow but inexorable and can carry lotsa weight. We dive 6 with 2 crew easy. Hydraulic hoist brings the doubles aboard after we take them off in the water.... thought I suppose it would bring diver and all aboard if we tried.... hmmm....

Cabin small...cozy and can sleep two comfortably in v-berth....everyone else suffers....

I do have an 18" Boston Whaler Guardian with a 100 HP Evinrude that I use to dive Monterey Bay. It comes from the factory with bottle racks at the stearn, a railing on both port and starboard sides that is mounted at about water level so you have something to hang on to when getting back in the boat, there is also two U shaped rails mounted on the gunnels so you can climb in I do use a portable ladder as well. This boat is very similar to a Montauk except the center council is mounted a little closer to the bow which gives you more room to gear up. 2 diver?s in this boat and we can go any where, 3 diver?s is ok I have had 4 and you start to become limited as to how far out you can go should it pick up it?s a long ride back. I have owned this boat for about 10 years and just recently started to look at larger boats 22?-26? there was some fine one?s at the boat show this year at the Cow Palace in San Francisco but when it got down to the price my little boat look dam good.

Bought a 18 ft mfg v-hull, with 135 evinrude outboard, only problem it doesn't run, people around here are telling me to junk the whole thing because the 84 motor is just to old to work on. Haven't really looked into it but hopefully one day it will be in the water

I have a 41' sailboat, Ive only dove off her a couple of times up in Puget Sound, but the plan is to get her more cruise ready and take her into SE Alaska for awhile and do some diving, and then go South where the water is warm, Ive never been in warm water. It is a really nice blue water boat that well sleep 7, has all the conveniences of home, I just want more electronics.

I have a 2000 Aquasport 225 Explorer Walk-around, with a Johnson 200. We dive 4 (2 up, 2 down). Didn't have to modify anything, it already had the transom door, and I ordered it with the Armstrong ladder. I trailer it, so I dive many artificial reefs (love them lobsters) and wrecks around Long Island.

21' Trophy with twin 85's (one of which has crankseal issues-- and I am waiting for parts) Could easily do 2 up 2 down but the one time we had 4 divers in the boat it turnd ugly and did 4 down all at once. Never again. Not terrribly fast but for the deal I got I will live with it. Next boat will be 25-27' and in all likelyhood wont be as good of a dive boat.

Really didn't need to much for modifications for diving... .the step is low enough towork but I prefer climbing up the motors (bigger foot holds)

Keep a close look on the Want Ads. A friend of mine kept perusing the want-ad and finally stumbled across a killer deal for a 225 Johnson (I think) that had been sitting for a number of years but in superb condition.

Your engine might be too bad off to work on, but an '84 isn't too old.

Bayliner 19 foot w/125HP used mostly for skiing in the Finger Lakes and Adirondack mountains in upstate NY.

I'm new to Scuba this year so I'm looking to try some diving off the boat. I figure I can fit 4 divers and 1 boat sitter but 8 tanks would probably be 4 too many. I'm trying to figure out which compartments I can stuff all the gear in.

Modifications I'll need are: Tank Brackets, Dive flag mast and BC clips. I may also add a new ladder that extends deeper and a Bimini Top for the boat sitter.

1984 Chris Craft cabin cruiser (25’ x 10’). 5.7 liter inboard – gas (only 54 hours). It can hit 22 mph, but I’m happy at 12-14 mph when carrying 4 divers, 12 tanks, and other gear. 75 Gal gas tank. Handheld marine VHF, GPS, Loran, and 2 depth finders. We dive the natural reefs and "wrecks" near Destin, FL.

Modifications:

1. A permanent head and holding tank with a dedicated freshwater supply.
2. Fresh water shower mounted in the transom.
3. Pump to supply fresh water shower and sinks in bathroom and galley.
4. Racks for 8 tanks in the stern and horizontal racks for 4 tanks in the bow v-berth.
5. 2 permanent swivel pedestal seats and a pedestal seat for the co-pilot.
6. Overhead racks under the hardtop for spearguns and pokey poles
7. A fold-away tank rest. The diver steps onto the dive platform and sits on the transom facing aft. The tank rest is raised, and the tank and BC positioned for the diver (picture at bottom of post).
8. Two emergency O2 tanks mounted in the cabin.
9. Steel reinforcements on the dive platform.

Still to go:

1. Anchor winch
2. Ladder extension
3. Stereo
4. Propane BBQ (mmmm. . . grilled grouper)
