Any thoughts on a fishing style pontoon as a dive boat?
I bought this one a few years back because I like the set up (perfect for fishing and cruising, and if you take the seats and posts out of the bow it is great for the kids to jump off swimming.)

It's a 20', so I'd assume okay for inland lakes. Thought I might take the bow seats and rear passenger seats (leaving the benches and drivers seat) rig up some removable tank racks in the back corner or just outside the front rail.
The front deck I think would be good for easily getting into the water. And setting up some tethers to secure gear before getting out (I don't think it would be easy climbing the back ladder with a loaded bcd and tank, easier to lift out after already on board). Running a line from bow to the stern to pull your self to the ladder, or looking into an under bow ladder option.

Could be a good set up for a couple divers and watchers on smaller inland lakes.

Looks like a fine platform for a lake on a calm day.

Good idea on hanging gear when exiting. The stock swim ladder was probably designed to handle guys wearing nothing heavier than board shorts.

Probably no need for a granny line to the bow -- generally only needed for heavy current and you shouldn't see that on a lake. More lines in the water, more chances of something getting loose and fouling the prop.

On a related note -- hang lines for gear should be short enough that they can't reach the prop if you forget to bring them in.
