Yeah, I'm starting to think boat dives may become necessary with all the rain clouding up the water. We must be coming close to 30 inches of rain this season. What's up with that?!

Maybe I'll break down and get on a boat in March. :11:

We've got a Wrinkles Dive planned for Catalina in March, so that's getting on a boat even if it's still a shore dive. :eyebrow:

Maybe we can even get Mo2vation to come to a Wrinkles Dive if it's on Catalina. :crafty:

Jim, we've been chartering the Island Diver almost every Saturday with the DiveVets group for the last couple months. It's an 8-pack, 2 tank dive around various site in PV/Redondo, etc...$38/pp. Depending on the group/skill level, we'll hit different spots, anything from Christmas Tree Cove, Hermosa Reef, Avalon and the Palawan with more advanced divers. Boats are pretty much filled up, but there's always a few cancellations as the weekend gets close. Keep checking the site. There probably be another bunch of charters arranged soon.

There are a few write ups on the site from some past trips.

WHat's a 2 tank dive? Is that for a boat that doesn't do fills?

It refers to the # of dives a boat will do. Usually a 3 tank dive will cost you more. Most smaller boats don't have compressors so you take the full tanks with you for the # of dives you do. In the Dive Animals scuba club we go out on a 5 pack and we bring all our tanks with us. Sounds like Hermosadiver has a great way to do some cheap coastal boat dives! Must be nice!

That's what I'm talking about....

Nice.

Need nitrogen...tanks full...beach yucky.... :toilet:

Maybe I'll just dive in my bathtub! :scubadiver:

Catalina next weekend...hope it gets better! I hear only 10 ft vis there! Reefseekers has cancelled it's boat this weekend. What are we gonna do? :11:

Yeah, this is pretty bad. Lightning storms and downpouurs this morning. Rain predicted thru next Tuesday.

Now who was it that said that diving in the winter was far better than in the summer???

But this is an unusual winter with almost (or maybe more by now) 30 inches of rain fall.

So long as there is more actual, you know, DIVING than surface interval / Bar interval / other out-of-water activities, I am so there. ;)

However, I may have actually attended more of these than the fair Wrinkles, herself.
