Chuck Tribolet:
I think the only active GUE instructor in NorCal is Joe
Talavera, http://www.subtidal.net/ Dave Chamberlin
is also a GUE instructor, and was my DIR-F instructor, but I don't think he's active lately.

Hi Chuck, Thanks. I have e-mailed both of them but so far I have had a bit of trouble getting a date naied down. Those guys are bit hard to track down it seems. I could always fly to Florida and take a class with JJ....in my dreams!

Chuck by the way I think I spotted you in the Shore diving video. Is that you launching your Whaler at the breakwater in the video?

Chuck Tribolet:
What shore diving video?

"Monterey Shore Diving" The year was 2000. In the Video when they discuss the Breakwater they show the launching ramp and there is a Maroon Pathfinder unloading a Boston Whaler. Was that you?

FWIW, I believe Joe is the only active instructor in the area. I'd highly recommend him to anyone who may be considering GUE training. There are lengthy class reports all over the place (including mine) on ba_diving and sauedir.com. Your mileage may vary. I liked it.

Your SAG card is probably in the same place as my "Solo Diver" card ;-)

Just kidding. Inside joke.

Josh

Chuck Tribolet:
Could be. My 2nd Pathfinder, a '95, could be described as
Maroon (metallic red, really). Replaced it in '01 with the 3rd,
a silver '01.5 I haven't seen anybody else launch a whaler
with a Pathfinder.

Now where's my Screen Actor's Guild card? ;-)

OK do I get credit for that or what? You are in that video. Good eye huh? Now, take me to Ball Buster. :)

Pick up your SAG card anytime!

Chuck Tribolet:
The Navy's WAM goes out 7 days, and with practice you
can guess the momentum a day or two beyond, but 7 days
out isn't real accurate. What I'd do is look at the models
Monday a.m. and make your reservation if appropriate.
