Hi everyone! I just booked a 2 dive trip with Escapade for Sunday. If anyone's looking to boat dive on Sunday you should jump in.

melfox26:the swell forecast calls for 10 ft swells on Saturday, probably not dying down before Sunday, but it's not up on the site yet. Even with Bonine in my system, I don't do particularly great with that much swell.
Hi Mel
Chuck Tribolet:The problem with using the Monterey Bay swell forecast
is that it always has that big range because someplace is
protected, usually the mouth of Santa Cruz Harbor.
Instead, use the Pigeon Pt. to Pt. Piedras Blancas and
out 20 nm forecast at http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/mtr/getcwfzone.php?sid=MTR&zone=PZ555
(note: that URL changed yesterday to the one above),
and then apply a little directional windage. I stay home
if it's above 8'.
.SAT AND SUN...NW WINDS 15 TO 25 KT. WIND WAVES 3 TO 5 FT. NW SWELL
10 TO 12 FT.
CALI68:On man, that looks terrible. Thanks for the info.
melfox26:I got some Bonine you can use Chris.
Enjoy yourself out there, it'll be worth it once you get underwater.
We'll definately have to dive one of these weekends, winter is looking better for availability for me. As it's looking now, I don't have a free weekend until Dec.
Mel
Chuck Tribolet:The 3 p.m. forecast got worse:
.SAT...NW WINDS 15 TO 25 KT...INCREASING TO 20 TO 30 KT IN THE
AFTERNOON AND EVENING. COMBINED SEAS 12 TO 15 FT.
.SUN...N WINDS 20 TO 30 KT. COMBINED SEAS 11 TO 16 FT.
Now, some of the increase is because they combined the swell and wind wave
forecasts, but that usually a sign they are say stay off the water. The dive boats
will probably be able to hide at Hopkins Deep and points east. Unless the forecast is
way wrong, Ball Buster is out of the question. I think I'll build a little deck in my side
yard.
CALI68:LOL! That's a good idea, maybe I should break out the tool belt instead.
