I've never seen Blue Springs, and the website link from the zendiving thread says the domain is for sale. I did find a Dive Training article where;
According to Cincinnati, Ohio, scuba instructor Lori Allen, "He listened to what we told him would make this a first-rate diving destination." (http://www.dtmag.com/dive-usa/BlueSprings.html)
As a fellow landlocked diver I wouldn't balk at $20 entrance for porta-potties and changing rooms, barbecue grills and tiki lights. That's what the local limestone pit (http://cavdvr.tripod.com/haigh.htm) offers me. Although this article states this is one of the "Finest Aquatic Environments in the mid-west" so I may be spoiled.
The whole idea of paying to dive is taken with a grain of salt, the divers now get to vote with their wallets whether the improvements at BS are worth the extra cash or just bs.
