Stella says that a lot of dead fish floated to the top during dredging. Was at Blue Hole Friday and today. Did 5 dives, only saw about 4 fish the whole time. Ecological disaster.
But, I did finish my Divemaster rating.

Congratulations :dancingsnoopy:

BTW, Glad to see SB back on line!! Hope all of you are well!! How was your trip Ron?

The trip to FL was nice. Lightning canceled one morning dive, and I had a two tank night dive that was canceled at noon the day it was scheduled, so I jumped on a PM boat to the Grove where we lost two divers that had to be rescued by the coast guard.

We had an afternoon of low vis diving following a storm, but all and all the diving was very enjoyable. The trip to OR was good, but the tropical storm that hit Hawaii resulted in some strange weather in OR, and our week at Cultus lake was cool with some rain, so not the usual 90F weather we normally get in that part of the state. My son got up on water skis for the first time, so that was exciting.

It's good to be home. I love to travel, but two trips back to back was a bit tiring.

Glad to see SB is alive and well.

Kevin, I'll call you. Glad you got the housing.

My buddy and I are planning on diving at Blue Hole on 3-Aug and 4-Aug. We're trying to plan our gas requirements.

Is Stella's fill station open on weekends?

Thanks in advance!

The compressor was up and running last weekend. I was there for 5 dives over 2 days. The bottom is pretty different. I cleaned the memorial stones of silt and picked up some litter, including the usual snorkels and lead. I tucked back behind the grate and lit up the opening as well as I could to have a peek.

Visibility was good, there is a lot more silt around, though.

Normally yes, but Stella told us last weekend that she's going to be out of town and couldn't find anybody to take over for her.:shakehead

So take all the tanks/gas you'll need for the dives you're planning. THERE WILL BE NO FILLS!!

Thanks for the updates. NMDive01 and I are planning on going for two dives on Friday and three on Saturday...looks like we'll bring a lot of tanks! :) How busy has Blue Hole been lately? Is it back up to the typical summertime usage levels?

Is it back up to the typical summertime usage levels?
Looked it to me, though the bottom is usually not too busy as most are crowded around the platforms or otherwise staying shallow.
