You can't leave us hanging like that! We need a report from your cavern class. :)

I've had a craving lately to take a cavern/intro or GUE/NAUI cave 1 class lately..

That was mean huh? :rofl3:

I'll write something up and post it in a separate thread.

I think I will try and get a few folks down from the Denver area the third weekend in Feb. Let's hope for warmer weather? I can live with bad vis, but it would be nice to have some warmer weather! :D

We drove down from Pueblo, CO on April 5, 2008 intending to make a long day trip. Dive, refill tanks with Stella, dive again, and maybe a third dive, then drive home. Imagine our surprise when we pulled up to the grassy area parking lot only to see two huge backhoes parked on the grass. The old building where Stella used to fill tanks was completely surrounded by orange construction fencing, AND- the worst part- Stella's new little shack was closed. Some of the other folks there said that she couldn't open that weekend because they had cut the power to her shack in preparation for the old building demolition. So- only one dive for us and we turned around and went home. I would reccomend calling somebody before coming out if you're expecting tank fills. Another group was there and they said they had called up Stella and looked through her tanks and picked up a few half full ones to use. Stella would come back at 5:00 to lock up the empties. They were nice enough to offer us a couple of the half full ones (thanks whoever you are!) but we decided to just do the one dive since weather was getting really windy.

By the way- water conditions that day- Temp was 64 degrees and visibility was about 40 ft. Some algae floating in the water. We had the hole completely to ourselves 2:00 that afternoon.
