View attachment 171390This was the fish I saw. Something got hold of it around the middle. Research says it is a Cutlass Fish

Did you see this at the BHB?
It looks a lot like what I recall....but I did think the head was less beak shaped....then again, maybe if this fish was swimming with mouth wide open, that would create the effect......and it did "bite" the bulb in my Apollo video light that I was using as a hand held light last night!!!

I initially saw approximately 5 of them. Viz was very limited that day at The Bridge and they were so strange looking that I thought it was some Barracuda. Then I saw this one and I had never seen anything like it before. I was south of the east bridge.

I'm uploading this video right now, so it might not be available for the next 30 minutes, but I'm going to bed and wanted to share.

I just swam past a seahorse and didn't even see him, don't ask me how. I think I gave up looking close a few feet before him. Tim starts taking pictures and waves me over when I turn around to see what he's taking a picture of. Oh cool, an orange see horse. I decide to video record Tim taking pictures of the seahorse, biding time until he lets me get in with the GoPro when the coolest thing happens... The seahorse detaches and goes on an adventure. You'll also see Jim's hands and flashlight as he sees if it will interact with him or if it's being shy of the light. The funny thing was, where ever Jim was, it kept swimming towards him. Now at the 14:00 minute mark, an odd thing happens. It lays on its side and something comes out of it. Can someone provide some feedback on this event? Was it just relieving itself, was it birthing, or something else? The last photo is the object floating away.

Video was recorded on 11/16/2013 during a night dive.

I'm also going to attach some screen captures of the video.

Have met Sandra a few times but got to meet Dan post dive Sunday night with some of the regulars. I don't think I introduced myself due to hypothermia and lack of social graces.....
Great id on the Cutlass fish, hope to see it there sometime (if I ever look up)
Mr Chen some friendly constructive criticism; your video is badly in need of editing, pick the best 5 seconds of a clip and go with that, it's not easy but preferable to the Blair Witch Project effect of shaky, run on video. Rarely will my videos exceed 5 minutes in total length, and usually am told it could be shorter, lol!:D

Promised pictures, compliments of Kelly.
Great dive. Love the full moon night dives.
Lots of ragged sea hares about.

There were three or fours of these crabs on the legs, observed some odd behavior; as the outgoing current started really picking up the crabs ran into sand around the base. Hopefully got some good video of it.

I had an incredible magical dive this morning. Saw three spotted eagle rays (or the same one x3), 3 sh's (that's my index finger in pic 4), 2 octopuses, two jawfish with eggs and a manatee! Viz was a good 25-30 ft, clean blue water, temp 79.
