I have been noticing recently that upon surfacing I have blood in my mask from my nose. I ascend very conservatively, no more than 1 foot/second. There is no pain, it just feels like I have popped a couple of small blood vessels, What could it be?

Call DAN. They have qualified folks who can give you the medical advice you want. The call is free, even if you are not a member.

some people just bleed a little

Simbrooks used to freak me out. every dive, he would bleed some

he says it's no big deal

however, i'd still check with DAN and with a doctor, just to make sure it's
ok in your case

is not a big deal bleeding some....maybe reverse block

I am surprised that I have never experienced this issue.

My nose is very sensative to changes in the atmosphere. Every Spring and Fall, I get a series of nose bleeds that really drain alot.

Last one was in April. Driving down the road. I had to stop on the side of the road and finish the bleed.

But, I have never come up with a bleed. Generally, I need to blow my nose during my 15 foot stop... hence, MOF.... lol

Happens to me a lot especially on deeper dives. Fixed it by changing to a black mask - got tired of hearing about it.
