Don't know it this will relate to youas an adult but I noticed my daughter about 3-4 at the time. Had very loud snoring at night. Also when she awoke it was like she didn't sleep. I finally took here to a specialist. He determinded here tonsals and adnoise had to come out(spelling). Because they were so enlarged and actually blocking her air way. Well good luck

If I remember correctly, CPAP stands for Constant Positive Air Pressure. Just as the name says, it is a machine that supplies air at a positive pressure to the user through a mask or nasal canula. The positive pressure is supposed to keep the airway open.

You are correct about CPAP. There is also BiPAP, VPAP, etc. but they all basically push air into the user while asleep. The treatment seems effective 100% of the time. I have had good results.

My only question is whether there is any reason not to dive?

With the CPAP you look like an F-16 pilot when you go to bed. Also it doesn't do a whole lot for the romance side of bedtime either!

actually, . . . a naked F-16 pilot, but it's worth it to get some sleep without suffocating.

which looks like a beefed up nasal canula. Far more comfortable than the F-16 face mask, and I have no compression sores. CPAP will not limit your diving if you unplug it first. :tease:

Thanks for the tip. I will definitely unplug the CPAP machine. Re: Nasal Pads. I see on the web a product referred to as Nasal Pillows, but no Nasal Pads. Are these the same thing?

Have you given any thought to pumping a tank of Nitrox into the CPAP machine? I figure with a little ingenuity I could rig something up! LOL

There is a surgery that I have read about, where they go in and slit your "snorer." I don't know anything else about it, but the thought of a naked F-16 pilot gives me some funny mental visions.
