certainly you can't be that naive? maybe you can

look at the journalists they choose to award prizes, and you will see coverage heavily slanted against immigrants:

http://www.cis.org/articles/Katz/katzintro.html

a small sampling of their "neutral" coverage:

Ms. Carter broke story after story related to the dangerous conditions all along America’s southern border. While better-known media outlets only discovered the immigration crisis when millions of illegal aliens massed in the streets this spring, rare has been the week that Ms. Carter hasn’t appeared on a cable news program discussing her latest scoop.

another is for a reporter from the Washington Times ... hardly a neutral newspaper

also Lou Dobbs, who is about as anti-immigration as you can find

i don't have the time to read each and every aticle from thos guys, but my guess is they would be consistently anti-immigration

also ... if you can pull out some articles from that site that are PRO immigration, that would go a long way to convincing me

Andy... I think you're confusing two issues...

I don't believe anyone here (including me) has an issue with immigration. Nor does the CIS (which is *PRO* immigration).

The debate here revolves around ILLEGAL immigration. Get it? ILLEGAL.

Immigration is actually a good thing... no one is disputing that. It's our primary source of *required* population growth, and the Gov. tries to administer it in a sane fashion (whether or not they succeed).

We live in a country of laws, statutes, rules, rights, regulations... Remove those, ignore them, mete them out selectively, and you're left with chaos...

Is that the flavor of society you want your kids raised in? Chaos? Anarchy? Lawlessness? Is that what you're defending?

and you and that site blow this issue completely out of proportion, for whatever reason ... and resort to fear-mongering and cries of "invasion" and demonizing the economically disadvantaged

see?

your entire approach to this issue is risible, were it not so potentially dangerous to our society, which it is

you're being manipulated ... figure out why

First of all, stop editing and re-editing your posts before anyone can respond...

Secondly, you're nuts... I give up...

... too true ... i write by drafting, so i will edit stuff around a few times

if you quote me when you respond, then you can "capture" my initial post, if you're afraid of foul play :eyebrow:

i understand the issue and am willing to defend my view :eyebrow:

even if it's wrong :D

well, if i thought it was wrong i wouldn't defend it

:mooner:

it's a bunch of ethical issues in one

there are certain things you can't do (such as lie to a tribunal, or present evidence you know to be false) ... then there is your ethical obligation to your client NOT to reveal things they've told you as a client ...

so ... most times, if a lawyer can't represent their client in good conscience, they'll ask to leave the case

of course, some lawyers have no scruples and will lie to anybody for a buck ... in my experience, those are in the small, tiny minority
