I still have my Betty Crocker knife (http://www.deepseasupply.com/page17.html)... but with my double hose reg, my USD Vulcan is right by my side just in case a dangerous shark wanders by!

As most vintage divers will tell you, sharks are more attracted to a 2 hoses. My theory is that some of them have heard of Uncle Mike Nelson and think that they are tougher than our hero. But of course if Jaws starred Lloyd Bridges, it wouldn't have lasted past the first scene.

a friend of a friend gave me an old ScubaPro knife, overall length is just under 12.5". Its Japaneese steel. The scabbord is the interesting part. It has a hood on it. It makes it relatively difficult to put completely in and also hard to get out. The hood looks like it is to prevent it from slipping out (which I wonder if it ever would). I was thinking of putting it up on eBay... no idea of its sentimental value :11doh:

My guess would be that the "hood" would be more to prevent snagging (on kelp and stuff). Interesting set.
