Months ago I posted a rant about my dismal experiences with a Beuchat CX2000 computer. The short of it was that I sent it in for repair while under warranty and it took more than 7 months to repair/return and on the first dive trip it went belly up again! They said it was now out of warranty and it was my problem. After numerous emails, letters and a post to this board, I finally got a response from Beuchat offering to make it right.
I sent the computer back to them again with the PC interface in November and after months (again) of follow up, I got a replacement unit in March which had some LEDS burn out on the first dive trip as well. After 2 more months of arguing with them, i got another replacement unit.
Now I have not tried this computer (and may never) but in addition to taking another 6+ months to get this back, they have not returned the PC interface and continue to disregard any emails or letters I have sent trying to follow up.
At this time, I am pretty certain this is a wash and Beuchat will never return this item as it is likely lost. Even though they finally replaced the unit, there is no way that I would ever recommend anyone getting one of the devices. The simple fact that there is a combined total of more than 13 months "in repair" combined with the failure to return the interface is a clear sign to be very carefule if you are going to get gear from this company.
I know others have posted pleasure with their Beuchar regs and I am glad. I know that I would never rely upon them for any life support devices based upon my experiences.
Look for this as a unique tank banger on ebay in the coming weeks.
