Best Way to Phuket from NY?

I just started looking into air travel to Phuket. I was wondering if anyone knows what the quickest way and least amount of stops is to Phuket from NY?

Actually found a direct flight to BKK (16 hrs) and then a direct 1:20 min flight to Phuket. I will have to spend one night in BKK but that is fine.

How about China or Eva? They are excellent value for money. Don't know if they fly to NY though.

Singapore Airlines, the best service in the World, goes the other way in crossing the Pond from the East Coast: thru Frankfurt to Singapore, then take Silk Air up to Phuket. . .

I did Thai Airways from JFK to Bangkok, then Bangkok to Phuket.

Looks like you could fly direct to Singapore from EWR via Singapore Airlines. You could then catch a direct flight to Phuket. It seem though it is a longer flight. How is Thai Intl Airlines.

You definitely want the Singapore Air flight, non-stop from Newark, about 18 hours. Fly any airline from Singapore to Phuket, but SilkAir has the best looking stewardesses.

Don't forget to carry on some water for such a long flight.
